Privacy policy
Privacy, kept the way we keep the house.
HappyGlimpse collects the smallest amount of personal information a licensed hotel and casino can run on — and it never leaves the house. This page explains exactly what we hold, why, for how long, and how to have it deleted. In plain English, because plain English is the policy.
01 · Who is responsible
One company, one desk, one answer.
The operator of this website and of the HappyGlimpse venue at 1830 Logan Rd, Mount Gravatt East QLD 4122 is HappyGlimpse Hospitality Pty Ltd, ABN 46 118 372 654, licensed under Queensland gaming and hospitality law. We are the "controller" of every piece of personal information described on this page, and the privacy contact is the same guest desk you'd call for a booking: +61 7 2899 6656 or happyglimpse@gmail.com.
This policy covers the website you're reading and the venue itself — online enquiries, event briefs, membership files, stay records and gaming compliance data. It doesn't cover third parties we don't control (we use none for tracking; see the cookie policy for the full picture on that).

02 · What we hold
Four files — and each one has a reason.
The enquiry file
Name, e-mail, phone, occasion, date, budget band and your brief — created when you use the contact form, write to us or call. It exists to answer you and to quote; the file closes when the enquiry closes.
The stay file
Guest details for rooms and events, plus the ID-check record our licence requires at the door. Held under Queensland hospitality and gaming rules.
The compliance file
Memberships, chip-float reconciliations and any records the regulator obliges us to keep — the least glamorous file and the most protected one.
The stats file
Anonymous page-view counts that tell us which service pages guests read — no names, no profiles, no third-party trackers.
The invite list
E-mail addresses subscribed to the inner-circle list — every mail carries one-click unsubscribe and nobody is added without ticking the box.
03 · How it's used & who sees it
Used to host you. Shared with almost no one.
Your information does exactly four jobs: it answers your enquiry, honours your booking, satisfies our licence obligations, and — if you subscribed — carries the occasional invitation. It is never sold, rented, swapped or used for advertising profiles. There are no data brokers, ad exchanges or social pixels in the house.
The only parties who ever see guest data are: our own crew on a need-to-host basis; our accountant and auditor for the legally required reconciliation figures (aggregate, never the guest file); and authorities where Queensland law compels disclosure — a gaming regulator's request or a police warrant, the same as any licensed venue.
Storage & retention
Locked in the records room.
Enquiry files close after 12 months; stay records follow hospitality law (7 years); compliance records follow the regulator's schedule; the invite list lives until you click unsubscribe. Paper is locked, digital is encrypted, access is logged.
04 · Your rights
Ask, and it's done.
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us — by e-mail, phone or at the desk — to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where the law allows. We answer within 30 days, in practice within the week, and there's no charge for reasonable requests.
- Access — a copy of your file, posted or handed over at the desk
- Correction — wrong detail fixed at source, confirmations in writing
- Deletion — enquiry and marketing files erased on request, licence records retained as law requires
- Complaint — raise it with us first (we like fixing things), then the OAIC if we've truly earned it
Strictly 18+ — data included
We don't hold files on minors. Full stop.
The venue is licensed 18+ and so is every service on this website: we knowingly collect nothing from anyone under 18. If a minor's details ever reach us by mistake, the file is deleted on discovery — and the door policy that caused the mistake gets reviewed the same day.
Changes to this policy
Revised each September, posted in the lobby.
When this policy changes, the new version takes the date at the top of this page and the old one goes to the records room — the lobby noticeboard carries the plain-English summary, because that's where our guests actually are.
