HappyGlimpse began as a twelve-table parlour above a bakery on Logan Road. Today it is Brisbane's boutique gaming resort — still family-run, still stubbornly offline, still measuring success in handshakes per hour.

The Happyglimpse family opens a parlour with one roulette wheel, two blackjack tables and a kettle.
The Logan Road house
Doors open on the current art-deco building: 30 rooms, one salon, and the first Green Room kitchen.
The Emerald Floor
The glass-ceiling salon lands — 42 tables under one roof and Brisbane's first members' roulette society.
Suites & the rooftop
86 keys after full renovation, penthouse gaming residences and a skyline terrace for closed parties.

Eighteen years, 340+ private events a year, and the same rule as day one: everything in person.
The Anniversary Gala — 14 November 2026
One night, the whole house: the Emerald Floor re-dressed in 1930s velvet, a charity wheel with all winnings to the Children's Hospital Foundation, and the founding family hosting every table personally.
The original roulette wheel still turns on the Emerald Floor every Thursday — retired from service, polished nightly, and pointedly never for sale.
Hospitality is a table, not a transaction.
Every guest is hosted, never processed. Our floor teams are graded on conversation quality, our kitchen on whether you lingered, our suites on how hard it is to leave. If a screen could do it, we don't do it.

The founder's monologue
“People ask why we never went online. I ask them to remember their best night out — and then ask which app it happened in. Exactly. It never did.”
Margaret still walks the floor six nights a week, greets the conference crowd at 9:00 sharp, and has personally signed off every private event since the bakery days. Her rule of thumb hangs framed behind the concierge desk.

A 1930s glass ceiling rescued from the Regent Theatre, 42 tables laid to feng-shui of luck, and acoustic paneling hidden in the mouldings — all delivered while the rest of the house kept playing.
Rooftop gaming residences
Six penthouse floors with in-suite dealing tables, skyline tubs and a private lift that opens straight onto the terrace — our most requested venue for closed celebrations.
The conference house rebuild
Two daylight halls re-engineered for hybrid-free, human-first events: fibre AV, courtyard breakout gardens and a stage that converts to a casino floor in ninety minutes flat.

62% of guests drive in from greater Brisbane, 23% fly in from Sydney and Melbourne, and 15% arrive from further afield — Singapore, Tokyo, London — often for a single evening.
